POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Construction is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of all design and site-related activities across the project. This role ensures that all works are executed in accordance with the specified quality standards, and are delivered within the approved budget, timeline, and quality parameters. The position plays a key role in coordinating between design, engineering, and site execution teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide end-to-end project management of the works contract, including the finalization of documentation, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Resolves technical problems related to the constructability of the design in respect to site condition and user’s requirement.
  • To co-ordinate issue of design documentation for all disciplines to the contractors, ensuring that the documentation is appropriately coordinated and issued in accordance with the agreed program.
  • Program management of all nominated works, including monitoring and re-programming as necessary to meet project objectives.
  • Regular formal and informal reporting on progress, cost and program, including necessary re-planning to meet project objectives.
  • Cost planning and management, including identifying and implementing potential cost savings.
  • Review shop drawings of architectural / fitting-out / façade works / and etc., and other interim design work undertaken by the designers, suppliers and contractors.
  • Coordinate site activities between the contractors and project team in ensuring compliance with all site protocols.
  • Assist the project team to resolve site matters, including vetting rectification proposals to fit in with the design and the intended usage.
  • Management of contract documentation, correspondence and claims from the contractor, in accordance with the relevant contract
  • Monitoring the work progress and quality of the constructed and fitting-out works to the standard specified.
  • Inspection of completed works and works in progress.
  • Coordination of handover to operator and facilitating any early access and pre-opening activities with fit-out work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a related discipline is often preferred for senior-level roles

Experience

  • 15 years and above of Construction Management experience in Civil Engineering, building and fit out works.

Skills / Competencies

  • Must possess on-site problem-solving skill to ensure smooth progress of works.
  • Must be competent in managing contractors to achieve timely delivery of project.
