Position Summary
Responsible for the administration, implementation, and promotion of student development programs designed to foster student engagement and leadership and support student retention. The Director must assess programs and seek feedback from students to ensure that the programs are enhancing the growth and development, as well as, increasing retention and success rate of students. Provide leadership and oversight to Greek Life, Campus Activities Board, and student organizations. Lead departmental team of Assistant Director, graduate assistants, and student employees in working with respective organizations in recruiting participants, maintaining good university standing, and ensuring participant eligibility.
This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Description of Job Duties
Provide leadership and oversight for Greek Life, Campus Activities Board, and student organizations.
Serve as a leader and an advocate for addressing student engagement issues and initiatives with respective staff.
Anticipate, evaluate, and address changes in student needs, in order to design and implement programs and services to improve student experience on campus, and identify emerging trends, best practices, and new research related to student engagement sharing that information across units.
Work collaboratively with administration, faculty, staff, and students to effectively meet objectives and goals.
Manage institutional Engage portal for supporting student organizations.

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree.
Required Work Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in student activities or other related area in Student Affairs.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, or related area.
Professional experience in student activities.
Experience in fraternity and sorority advising, and leadership.

Work Hours
Mon through Fri 8am to 5pm, with evening and weekend hours as needed.
Physical Demands
Finger dexterity to operate equipment; ability to bend/stoop, push/pull and provide minimal unassisted lifting (up to 20 pounds) associated with the job duties is required.
