Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.
Position Overview:
This position involves searching ancient Greek texts for mentions of specific historical figures using the Thesaurus Linguae Graecae database. The successful applicant will also collect this information in a well-organized spreadsheet.
Duties:
Assist in data collection, data entry, analysis and interpretation.
Perform data/word processing, routine computations, and record keeping.
Monitor and document research status and findings.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant will have completed intermediate ancient Greek.
Ability to use Excel/Google Sheets.
Condition(s) of Employment:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
The period of work will be from May 21, 2021-August 20, 2021 and the estimated total hours of work will be 30.
