Marketing and Fan Experience Associate

Job Summary

The Marketing & Fan Experience Associate will develop, implement, and execute strategic marketing, digital, branding, and promotional plans for its assigned sports. The ideal candidate will identify and execute innovative elements to ensure an entertaining and engaging in-venue atmosphere at assigned sporting events. This position will also assist with marketing and game day efforts for Football and Men’s Basketball. Additional duties will include but are not limited to:

Participating in promoting Purdue Athletics to the campus community including faculty/staff and students (residence halls, Greeks, international, etc)

Coordinating promotional publicity campaigns for assigned sports

Assisting with student interns and volunteer help

Serving as POC and organize activities for Boilermaker Crossing (pre-game football fanfest area)

Coordinating pre-game, in-game and post-game presentations, and activities at assigned sports

Managing all aspects of game day production, including bands, spirit squad, student organizations as appropriate, video board, pre-game music, premium giveaways, on-field presentations, P.A announcements, etc. at assigned sports

Assisting in managing individual sport budgets

The position is for 1 year duration, start date of July 1, 2021 with the option for an annual 1 year renewal for a maximum of 2 additional years.

Required:
Bachelor’s degree

Must have a professional and positive attitude; outstanding ability to listen well and work in a team environment with diverse individuals

Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills with the ability to complete projects within specific deadlines

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and produce high quality work with attention to detail

Ability to communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft word and Excel.

Ability to work weekends, travel and maintain flexible work schedule

Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field

1 year experience in marketing related field or student related experience at the collegiate level/professional athletic department

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and InDesign

Additional Information:
Purdue will not sponsor work authorization for this position.

A background check is required for employment in this position

This was formerly classified as an operational/technical position; an internal lateral transfer will retain same benefit standing.

FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible for Overtime)

Retirement: Non-exempt Defined Contribution Plan
