HERFF JONES, CAD UTILITY OPERATOR – Warwick, RI
YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
The Herff Jones Operations team, based in Warwick, RI is looking for a CAD Dept Utility Operator to join our team.
Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact:
Reporting to the Supervisor of Tooling, the Utility Operator’s primary job function is to support the CAD Designers by performing the more entry-level and basic duties required within the department. At the same time, learning and developing your own skills as a CAD Designer/Technician.

But don’t worry, we would never ask an employee to take on an assignment they didn’t already have the right skill sets they needed to succeed. As we see it for right now, however, here are the challenges that we want you to tackle:
STL cleaning and healing; making the 3-D file ready for 3D printing
Post-process clean-up of 3D printed waxes/plastics based on requirements for the printer used
Operate 3D printing equipment within a production manufacturing environment
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance of 3D printing equipment
Keep inventory of materials and supplies for 3D printer and order supplies as needed.
Wax tree’ing of 3D printed and cleaned waxes
Operate alcohol distillers on daily basis
Create 2D specification sheets, from existing 3D models, for new and existing products
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
A positive attitude, self-motivation and a desire to learn, in addition to meeting the following requirements:
Education / Certifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Competency with Windows PC including Microsoft Office (Required)
CAD experience/training: 1 year (Preferred)
Graphic Design experience/training: 1 year (Preferred)
