Job Description

Fraternity & Sorority Life is seeking an individual to join our team to advise organizations, Interfraternitiy Council, Multicultural Greek Council, Panhellenic Association and the National Pan-Hellenic Association on policy matters, develop educationally purposeful programming for members of the Fraternity & Sorority community, assist with strategic planning and implementation of the plan. This position works closely with student groups, administrators across the university, offices within the Dean of Students area, and with a diverse group of external stakeholders including alumni.

Develop and implement educational programs; collaborate with Greek Councils to develop programs that strengthen community and enhance student experiences.

Provide leadership, support, and advocacy by serving as the primary advisor to several Greek student organizations. Mentor students to navigate issues pertaining to chapter operations, organizational development issues, etc. Develop meaningful relationships with not only student chapter leadership but also Interfraternitiy Council, Multicultural Greek Council, Panhellenic Association and the National Pan-Hellenic Association (4 Greek student chapter councils).

Provide timely and appropriate communication with student chapter leaders, as well as alumni and national office stakeholders. This includes attending council meetings, Provide guidance to Greek councils concerning their organizational budgets; encourage fiscal responsibility and the importance of being good stewards of student resources.

Coordinate student needs assessment and help develop programs and services to support student retention and student development. developing emails, face to face meetings with student leaders and recommending communication strategies to the Student Affairs Marketing department.

Salary

Salary Range: $16.92 – $20.19 an hour

Grade: GGS 008

Shift

Monday – Friday

8:00 AM -5:00 PM

Some evening and weekend events may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in higher education student affairs, college counseling, or related field strongly preferred.

Previous professional experience in Greek Life including leadership and/or advisory role with fraternity or sorority organizations.

Demonstrated experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.

Knowledge of college student development theory, theories and models of leadership development, and community building techniques.

Experience working with international/national fraternity and/or sorority offices.

Experience advising a governing council (IFC, PHA, NPHC, MGC, etc.).

Experience advising/working with National Pan-Hellenic Council chapters/members and/or Multicultural Greek Councils chapters/members.
