Position Summary
Witt O’Brien’s is looking for an Emergency Coordinator who has emergency management experience to ensure that Witt O’Brien’s clientele is properly trained, informed, and maintains a high state of readiness in the event of an emergency. The incumbent will interact with the response team, operations, and clients thus having executive presence and strong verbal and written communication skills are critical. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, responsible, and confident with a commitment to integrity and the ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with minimal supervision. Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Travel: 15%
Essential Job Functions
Provide 24/7 spill response services to clients including Qualified Individual (QI), Incident Commander, Operations Section Chief, and Division Supervisor positions.
Support clients’ needs in preparing for emergencies.
Maintain a personal high state of readiness to support clients.
Provide annual support to clients as required such as annual training (HAZWOPER, ICS, QI, Spill Prevention Control, Countermeasure (SPCC), etc.), and tabletop exercises.
Develop and maintain local Network employees in support of the Company’s efforts in providing the best service to clients.
Ensure that the O’Brien’s Response Management Network is properly trained, informed, and maintain a high state of readiness in the event of an emergency.
Stay abreast of current affairs in the local response community by attending meetings, reading news updates, etc., and remaining informed of events that have an impact on the Company, our clients, and the community.
Be alert and aware at all times and anticipate clients’ needs.
Constantly seek new business opportunities for the Company.

Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree.
10 plus years of experience in the field of emergency response such as civil unrest, man-made disasters, natural disasters, chemical spills, oil spills, or releases of hazardous materials.
Certifications in Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 300, 400, 449, 700, and 800.
Current certification in 24-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
Must be highly independent, capable of making decisions in a highly charged and dynamic environment, and skilled in team and consensus building.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Job Requirements
Current Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) and or Basic Offshore Induction and Safety Training (BOISET) certifications.
Oil Spill Management Workshop such as International Maritime Organization (IMO) Level 3 or equivalent.
Ability to speak and write in other languages is a plus, particularly those that are helpful in the marine community such as Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese, Greek, Tagalog, etc.
5 plus years working for, or directly with, regulatory agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States Coast Guard (USCG) and/or State agencies relevant to this field.
