Legal Officer
On behalf of a client, an established professional association, we are currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role Legal Officer to join their team in Nicosia.

Positions’ Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance and support to the Head of Legal Affairs Department for the effective operation of the department.

  • Review draft Laws that affect the members of the organization and provide suggestions for improvement.

  • Involving the disciplinary proceedings relating to the organizations’ members pursuant to the prevailing regulations.

  • Handle complaints submitted against members and prepare the relevant documentation for the potential referral to the Disciplinary Committee.

  • Draft and prepare contacts and other legal documents and/or review contracts and legal documents of external collaborators.

  • Participate in and support the organization on matters relevant to the department’s task.

  • Collaborate with external bodies, stakeholders, government and/or private institutions and competent authorities. Related to the responsibilities of the position and to the organization in general.

  • Represent the Institute in bodies and committees related to the duties of the position.

  • Prepare reports, statements and statistical data related to the activities of the position.

  • Continuously strive to improve processes and systems and manage changes effectively.

  • collaborate with other departments of the organization to ensure proper and professional operation.

  • Provide suggestions for topics to be included in training activities.

  • Perform other tasks/duties assigned by an authorized person.

Position’s Requirements

  • University degree in Law

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, following the date of passing the examination of the Legal Council.

  • Passed the examination of the Legal Council.

  • Expertise in litigation, administrative, corporate, regulatory and European legislation would be considered as an advantage.

  • Excellent knowledge of Greek and English languages.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing in Greek and English.

  • Team orientated and able to work on own initiative.

  • Digital literacy is needed.

Working hours: Monday – Friday (twice a week 8:00-17:30, three times per week 8:00-15:00). Following a 38-hour working week, flexibility and working from home arrangements are available, subject to the needs of the organization.
