Data Analyst – Internal Audit

As a Data Analyst within the Global
Internal Audit & Analytics team, you’ll be part of transforming audit
capabilities through cutting-edge data analytics. You’ll leverage your
technical expertise to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets,
driving smarter, more efficient audit outcomes across Trafigura’s global
operations.

You will work closely with the Internal Audit team and business stakeholders to
understand audit objectives, data requirements, and analytical needs for
successful audit activities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and implement advanced data analytics methodologies,
    techniques, and tools that transform audit approaches and enhance
    effectiveness
  • Extract, transform, and integrate data from diverse sources to
    meet audit requirements, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout
  • Provide comprehensive data analytics support during audit
    engagements, including data sampling, testing, and in-depth analysis
  • Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that
    effectively communicate audit findings and insights to stakeholders at all
    levels
  • Provide actionable intelligence through data-driven insights
    that directly enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of audit processes
  • Implement continuous auditing and data analytics techniques to
    improve audit activities and process improvements
  • Continuously explore and evaluate emerging analytics tools,
    techniques, and best practices to strengthen the Internal Audit function’s
    capabilities

Department Overview:

  • The Internal Audit and Analytics department
    supports management across the Group in assessing the design effectiveness of
    processes, as well as relevant risks and controls for the governance, trading,
    IT and support processes. Results of these activities are reported to the Board
    of Directors and the Audit Committee, accompanied by action plans to improve
    process design, strengthen controls and further mitigate risks where required.

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in data analytics, business
    intelligence, or a related area.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data Analytics, Data Science,
    Business Analytics, Audit, Economics, or Business Administration (focusing
    on data analytics or quantitative methods).
  • Proven experience in applying data analytics techniques to
    support audit or risk management activities.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and
    analysis
  • Proficiency in data analytics methodologies, techniques, and
    tools (e.g., QlikSense, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and presentation abilities in
    English.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Professional qualifications such as CIA, CISA, Certified Data
    Analyst (CDA), or Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) will be
    considered an asset.
