Senior Director* of* Business Development – Federal Operations
AArete* is lookin*g for an experienced business development professional* to* strategically build and lead our Federal Operations line of business. The right candidate must have a strong desire to be an entrepreneur and possess an unwavering commitment to excellence. You will fill a pivotal role creating a brand new service line and leading the business development for new clients within the government sector. You will bring deep knowledge of federal contracting, experience building strong client relationships, and insights gained through industry and prior consulting experience to generate leads and sell projects to fuel increased revenues and corporate profitability. Primary Responsibilities: nt (take out extra space)
- Lead the development of AArete’s Federal service offerings, marketing initiatives and proposals
- Leverage business contacts and relationships to secure, design and manage prospects for new Federal business
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline and execute strategic sales opportunities to grow new business
- Develop and maintain excellent client relationships and directly interface with C-suite executives
- Act as a Federal operations subject matter expert with clients to identify and sell best practice technical and data program management services
- Regularly conduct business value discussions and business strategy discussions with AArete’s leadership
- Take an active role with AArete’s leadership to assess existing clients’ strategies and pain points to develop high value, breakthrough ideas for future engagements
- Jointly lead efforts on RFP’s with Managing Directors and senior leadership
- Collaborate with AArete’s Marketing team to identify, develop and implement effective sales and marketing plans and create new market opportunities
- Identify and attend conferences, meetings, and industry events to establish leads for meetings with potential clients

Secure and facilitate follow up meetings for AArete’s Managing Directors by successfully conducting first round meetings with C suite executives
- Regularly monitor and measure business development performance and provide reports on monthly progress updates to CEO and update the company on a periodic basis
- Exceed established revenue quotas for growth
- Develop strong relationships with clients that evolve beyond the contracted assignment and leverage this relationship to initiate future engagement opportunities
- Lead and execute project extension and expansion discussions
- Formulate and communicate our corporate vision, create a shared sense of purpose and inspire others
- Actively participate in the recruiting process through interviewing, referrals, and other opportunities to promote AArete

Requirements: *
- 15+ years direct experience and meaningful relationships with key Federal government agencies (GSA, CMS, CDC, VA and FDA)
- Experience in sales generation from Federal agencies or Federal procurement function
- Experience with both technology related consulting services as well as management consulting services
- Proven track record of developing new client relationships and generating business development opportunities that leads to successful client engagements
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to effectively manage client expectations
- Exceptional organization and time management skills to manage multiple client priorities simultaneously with fast-paced turnaround times
- Intellectual and analytical curiosity, a creative visionary who can manage innovation
- Washington D.C. or D.C. metro area based
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus
