HERFF JONES, Quality Lead – Arcola, IL

Your Opportunity:
The Herff Jones Operations team is looking for a Quality Lead to join our team in Arcola, IL

Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact:
The Quality Lead is responsible to work with production and support staff on resolving quality issues. A strong focus on positive suggestions to improve quality in the production operations year after year and a balance of priorities will be key to operating successfully in the role.

What We Want You to Accomplish:
First 30 Days:
Understand and be able to complete all the Quality Inspection and Customer Service QA process steps.

Understand and be able to create daily and weekly metrics reports.

Understand remake process and be able to review, inspect and assign remakes.

First 90 days:
Conduct Quality training for onboarding of new hires.

Identify areas for opportunity for improvement utilizing data from remakes and FPY.

Understand and be able to create CARs and distribute to the correct production team. Provide all corresponding data to the team.

First 120 Days:
Conduct CAR review meetings and follow up on CARs to ensure closure and validate effectiveness of CA/PA.

Assist in recommendations on performance evaluations, job candidates and personnel issues.

What You’ll Be Doing on A Daily Basis:
Compile daily quality metrics and present at GEMBA boards.

Review data on metrics boards and work with Data Analyst to ensure correct.

Work with department supervisors and plant leaders to ensure that we have key team members placed in the correct inspection gates to maximize job completions.

Inspect and signoff on remakes, as needed.

Process remake requests (perform thorough investigation to root cause/area responsible) and assign to CS QA Team.

Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:
High School or GED; Associates Degree a plus

Proven success to effectively communicate (listening, writing and verbal) across all levels of an organization resulting in strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Previous success in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing role working to resolve quality.

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and learning new systems/technology with understanding some work is processed manually

Multiple examples of going above and beyond to help the team achieve a goal

Ability to work independently and establish priorities.

Proven success in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to present to an audience

Analytical problem solving, ability to drive root cause/corrective action

Ability to regularly move up to 50 lbs.
