Our New York Location is currently seeking a Maitre D’ to join our team!
POSITION SUMMARY
The Maitre D’ is responsible for greeting patrons, showing them to tables, managing the flow of the restaurant through collaboration with Kitchen and Floor Staff.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Showing patrons to tables during Lunch & Dinner service
- Greeting and escorting patrons with a professional and positive attitude
- Oversee the flow of guests within the restaurant
- Manage the reservations and reservations team
- Liaison between Back of the House and Front of the House team
- Maintain the ambiance of the restaurant through lighting, music and cleanliness
- Proactively deal with guest inquiries and complaints
- Advise guests on specials, menu items and beverage choices
- Deal with guest Special Occasion arrangements and large party bookings
QUALIFICATIONS & JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3-5 years working in a fine-dining establishment as a Maitre D’ or Head Waiter/Waitress/Host
- Provide impeccable customer service
- Ability to understand and respond to individual patrons needs and requirements
- Maintain high-quality Service Standards, clean work habits with a great attention to detail
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills and can work a flexible schedule
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required
- Must work well individually and as a team player
- Must be able to stand and walk for long shifts of 8-12 hours
- Able to organize time effectively, forward plan and prioritize tasks to ensure work load is balanced and urgent situations are dealt with immediately.
