The University of Miami is a private school founded in 1925 in Coral Gables, FL (a suburb of Miami). The school enrolls 16,800 students annually and has a high value on research, academics, and has several opportunities for student activities including Greek life, music, athletics, student newspaper, and a radio station. UM is thriving campus; students are active, engaged in their academics, in campus life and in the community.

Description: InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in South Florida is seeking a Campus Staff Minister (CSM) for the Undergraduate chapter of the University of Miami. The University of Miami is one of the nation’s largest private schools, and know for values in research and student involvement. Currently the chapter is in the planting stage with a handful of core students. There is a large network of alumni since InterVarsity has a long history at UM. This CSM will be responsible to replant the chapter at UM, by establishing Jesus-centered communities in every corner of campus.

Requirements: The CSM that will thrive at UM is someone who is a visionary, a natural gatherer and who is passionate about social justice and environmental issues. The University of Miami is located in one of the most diverse cities in the US: Miami. It will be important for this person to be familiar with caribbean and Latino cultures and adapt easily to a new culture. He/she will find and gather missional students and build an expanding student-led ministry. All staff are expected to raise their ministry budget and will receive training in Ministry Partner Development. Applicants must be able to express a strong sense of calling to this mission.
