Student Program Coordinator- Organizations, Student Conduct and Community Standards

Florida State University’s Division of Student Affairs seeks an enthusiastic and collaborative Program Coordinator to provide support to the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standards (SCCS) in promoting responsible decision-making to foster an environment of holistic wellness, student-learning, and accountability. The colleague in the position will serve as the primary subject matter expert in SCCS to oversee the procedural standards for cases involving Student Organizations.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain a student-centered environment that encourages learning, accountability, and alignment with community standards and expectations.

Conduct information sessions and assists with the adjudication of cases for students and organizations charged with a violation of the Student/Student Organization Conduct Code.

Maintain a high level contact with students, parents, faculty, staff, campus partners, attorneys, legal counsel offices, and other external stakeholder regarding student and student organization conduct issues.

Assist in the training of student conduct hearing boards, student organization and Greek conduct boards and maintains training materials in accordance with the Student Organization Conduct Code and university policy and procedure.

Plan and provide educational programming to the Florida State community on topics such as responsible freedom, ethical decision making and conflict resolution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to work independently and to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information

Ability to think critically and analyze information with an understanding of policy application.

Knowledge of legal and compliance issues impacting higher education

Preferred

Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or Juris Doctorate.

Membership in an inter/national fraternal organization.
