Occupational Summary:
This position manages several highly visible fundraising programs for Duke Children’s, including corporate partnerships and peer-to-peer programs aligned with our Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) partnership.
This position reports to the Director, Special Programs, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Volunteers. The position will work collaboratively with colleagues in Duke Children’s Development (DCHD), throughout Duke Health and Duke University, with CMN Hospitals colleagues in the national office, and at other member hospitals across the U.S. to maximize fundraising support for Duke Children’s.
This position represents Duke Children’s at the national level of CMNH, as well as with our fundraising partners, major regional universities, and across the local community and will work closely with Duke Children’s Development’s Director and Associate Director, Special Programs, to set strategy and align resources appropriately. This position will also manage the Duke Children’s volunteer program for DCHD activities with oversight by the Director, Special Programs. The 3-person Duke CMNH team fundraises an average of $3.5 million per year.
Work Performed:
Serve as the primary liaison to several CMNH corporate partnerships, including but not limited to:
Love’s, Publix, IHOP, Summer Classics, Valvoline and several Greek Life chapters on area college campuses. (45%)
Represents Duke Children’s and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ at national, regional and local levels Learns and applies national CMNH trends and relates the impact of those trends to Duke Children’s fundraising efforts Helps develop strategy to increase net income across the assigned accounts with the help of the Duke Children’s Special Programs team and the CMNH Southeast area directors from the CMNH national office Develops and sustains relationships by attending partner fundraising events, conducting presentations, visiting corporate partners’ locations, maintaining communication strategy, and collaborating with others within the Duke Children’s Development team to maximize fundraising potential for Duke Children’s Actively engages in efforts directed to increase cause connection across all CMNH partners and programs, including hosting hospital tours, virtual presentations to deepen their understanding and engagement with Duke Children’s mission and the impact of philanthropy on this mission.
Serve as the primary liaison to the existing collegiate dance marathon fundraisers and assists as needed with the development of new campus dance marathon partnerships in our CMNH market area (Greensboro, Raleigh/Durham, and Wilmington DMA’s). (45%)
Work closely with the CMNH Southeast Manager, Cause Partnerships to help dance marathon student leadership understand and implement strategy culled from best practices identified from similar events across the country Guide student leadership with assistance from Duke Children’s Senior Public Relations Specialist in appropriate engagement activities with Duke Children’s patient ambassador families Attend each in-person or virtual event to support students and promote fundraising throughout the event Creates cause connection efforts across all CMNH dance marathon programs, including hosting hospital tours, virtual presentations, and other activities to deepen the student leadership’s understanding and engagement of Duke Children’s mission and the impact of philanthropy on this mission
Serve as the volunteer coordinator for all Duke Children’s events that will require community hands-on involvement, collaborating with colleagues who have direct oversight of those activities, to communicate clearly and in a timely manner to our volunteer constituency. (10%)

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree program.
Experience
Work requires ability to design, plan and coordinate fund raising activities and special events generally acquired through two years experience.OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
