Associate Director of Alumni Relations

The Associate Director of Alumni Relations, reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations, works collaboratively with the team to engage alumni through affinity and identity programs, class volunteers and regional programs. This individual will be responsible for identifying, recruiting and stewarding alumni volunteers through a variety of established and new Dickinson programs. By building individual relationships and creating new programs, this person will establish a stronger culture of engagement and philanthropy for Dickinson. The associate director will also develop cultural, academic and social programs in select regions. Alumni Relations is part of the division of College Advancement, and works to increase alumni engagement and philanthropic support of Dickinson College from our 26,000 alumni. Occasional nights, weekends and regional travel required.

Essential Functions:

  • Grow Dickinson’s affinity and identity alumni groups through volunteer engagement, programming, communications and philanthropy. Build strong relationships with volunteers to plan milestone reunions and annual events for groups including but not limited to Greek Life organizations, global studies programs, student groups, and the African American Alumni Association of Dickinson College.
  • Identify, recruit, train, track and steward alumni volunteers in Alumni Relations and in collaboration with colleagues in College Advancement and campus partners. Identify volunteers for one-off opportunities and new roles as needed.
  • Develop regional programs as required to promote Dickinson’s priorities and build engagement of alumni and parents of the college off-campus. Recruit and manage volunteers to build engagement and create new opportunities within the regions. Requires occasional travel. Occasional nights, weekends and regional travel required.
  • Create programs that showcase Dickinson today, engage alumni, faculty and staff, and instill a sense of loyalty and responsibility for the college. Programs are strategically and creatively developed to increase the overall meaningful engagement of alumni and parents to the college Engagement for fundraising purposes.
  • Actively build relationships with alumni, faculty, staff and community partners. Seek ways to highlight and incorporate these groups into on and off campus programs
  • Support major Alumni Relations programs and initiatives, including Homecoming & Family Weekend, Alumni Weekend, Alumni Council meetings and other milestone events.

Bachelor’s degree

Driver’s License Required

5-8 years experience

A valid Driver’s Licence is required. Employees (operators) must have been in possession of a valid operator’s license for not less than three (3) years and the license must have been in good standing without interruption during that time period.
