HERFF JONES, HR Coordinator – Arcola, IL
YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
The Herff Jones team, based in Arcola, IL is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team.
Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact:
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for supporting HR functions including administration, payroll, employee relations, and will be a key contributor in Herff Jones’ recruiting, talent acquisition methods, strategies, design, and on-boarding. In this role you will interact and support the HR Manager, plant leadership, and their departments in fulfilling HR needs within the Cap & Gown Arcola plant. A strong core foundation of HR knowledge and the ability to balance priorities will be key to operating successfully in the role.

Provide HR support for all aspects of work from the Human Resources Department, the Human Resources Manager and Herff Jones leaders and employees.
Conduct recruiting functions as needed for the plant (posting, sourcing, interviewing, offer, and onboarding process)
Work with the HR Manager to help resolve entry-level employee relation issues and complaints
Complete weekly payroll processing in collaboration with Corporate Payroll department
Perform basic benefits administration (new hire enrollment, simple questions, and open enrollment activities)
Facilitate required employee training as needed
Support employee engagement events (recognition, annual celebrations) as needed
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
2+ years’ experience in a generalist capacity preferred, in addition to meeting the following requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, HR certification a plus
Previous success serving as HR support for a mid-size manufacturing or warehouse facility
Strong understanding of HR tools such as an ATS, HRIS, timekeeping, and payroll processing systems
Knowledge of Federal and State Human Resource related laws and regulations
Must be comfortable with conflict resolution and problem solving
Proven success to effectively communicate (listening, writing and verbal) across all levels of an organization
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and learning new systems/technology with understanding some work is processed manually
