Assistant Director of Greek Affairs

The Assistant Director and Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs is responsible for enhancing the overall educational experience of students thorough the development of, exposure to, and participation in fraternities and sororities. The Assistant Director works and advises Honor Society Council, Independent Council, Local Based Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council and Professional Fraternal Council. Facilitates programs such as Divine Intervention and other leadership opportunities that improve student cooperation and leadership while preparing students to be responsible advocates and citizens, as well as complementing academic programs. This position supports individual student development and advances organizational and community goals that align with the educational mission of the university. In addition, the Assistant Director is responsible for the management and oversight of the Fraternity and Sorority Conduct and Standards boards, assists with the strategic leadership and programming directives of campus life and supervises a Graduate Student Assistant.

Provides comprehensive advising and leadership to selected Sororities, Fraternities and Governing Councils in organizational leadership, program development, wellness programs, risk management, membership recruitment, and fundraising. In addition to monitoring budgets, attending meetings, and organizing events

Oversees chapter and council recruitment and intake processes. Provides training, education and experience in interpersonal relationships, leadership, group dynamics, and organizational development via the Membership Educational Summit and yearly leadership workshops. Liaises with the office of Student conduct and manages community standards within the fraternity and sorority community.

Works with chapter leaders to ensure that chapter rosters are accurate in the CollegiateLink database ENGAGE, develop and maintain assessment and maintains accurate and current records on membership, conduct matters, retention and scholastic achievement. Coordinates programming such as National Hazing Prevention, community service events and represents the Office of Student Life & Activities on the Homecoming Week planning committee. Supports Campus Life programming and leadership development initiatives and supervises and trains Graduate Student Assistant(s).

Experience: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited university and 3 – 5 years of experience in student life and activities and or leadership development
