NATURE AND SCOPE
Internal contacts may include senior administrators, faculty, students, and staff. External contacts may include vendors, consultants, and the general public .
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for the development, training, programming, and advisement of the Council of Fraternal Organizations including the National PanHellenic Council (NPHC), Local Based Councils (LBC), Professional Fraternal Organizations (PFO) and other selective membership organizations.
Assist with development, training, programming, and co-advisement of council of fraternal organizations member organizations.
Responsible for developing and updating program website and management of the Collegiate Link platform ENGAGE
Develop and implement plans to market, promote and publicize programs to the campus community.
Responsible for the development of assessment and evaluation tools specific to student development and engagement.
Responsible for review of Event Request submissions via the Collegiate Link platform ENGAGE.
Responsible for development and execution of departmental programs and community-based outreach.
Oversee several office budgets in conjunction with the Administrative Coordinator.
Assist the Assistant Director of Greek Affairs with student leadership development.
Assist with content creation and management of the Office’ social media handles.

Serve as an advisor and liaison to council of fraternal organization groups, assisting with supervision and oversight of members.
Supervise all programming and events for the Council of Fraternal Organizations.
Responsible for enforcing all Howard University and the Office of Campus Life policies, rules, expectations, and guidelines as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
Availability to work 9:00am – 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Must meet with direct supervisor on a weekly basis. Must be flexible with work schedule – available to work during the day, evenings, and weekends as necessary to support programs.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor and Assistant Dean, Campus Life.
CORE COMPETENCIES
Ability to develop and maintain proficiency in the utilization of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Peoplesoft, EMS and related software applications to perform a variety of typing and/or project assignments.
Knowledge of general office procedures and practices. Knowledge of basic record keeping procedures. Skill in basic arithmetic, grammar, and spelling.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with faculty, staff, students, and the general public .

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited university and 0 – 3 years of experience in student life and activities.
Must be fun, positive, organized, helpful, student-centered, friendly, and responsible. Demonstrate a sense of job responsibility, initiative, energy, leadership, approachability, and maturity.
Ability to handle crisis situations and sensitive topics; Ability to work independently and as a team.
