Associate Director – Marketing

Leads all marketing and game day responsibilities for Women’s Basketball, Softball, Men’s Soccer, and Women’s Soccer. Assist the marketing department with overall marketing and advertising of Clemson University Athletics to achieve departmental goals by coordinating and assisting efforts focusing on revenue, attendance, game atmosphere and branding. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:
35% – Essential – Planning & Development: Develops external communications. Leads creation of sport specifc marketing plans using both traditional and digital advertising methods. Assist the Director of Marketing with overall marketing and advertising of Clemson University Athletics (CUAD).

35% – Essential – Implementation & Execution: Responsible for the implementation and execution of marketing, promotions, and advertising plans with the goals of generating revenue, increasing student attendance, retaining season ticket base, and generating New Ticket Sales for Softball, Men’s Soccer, and Women’s Soccer.

15% – Essential – Supervision & Leadership: Oversee and Coordinate the student unpaid internship program, including recruiting, scheduling, and training a team of approximately 40 undergraduate interns. Coordinate with management and the CUAD’s HR team.

10% – Essential – Special Event Management: Schedules interns, creates unique fan attractions, and fulfills sponsorship requirements in conjunction with special events such as Fototball Fan day, Tiger Wonderland, Team autograph sessions, summer orientation, and other special events.

5% – Essential – Student Organization Liaison: Serve as the Marketing liaison for student organizations such as Greek life, Residence Life, and other campus organizations. Work with these campus groups to coordinate theme days throughout the year that will increase student attendance at Clemson Sporting Events.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education – Bachelor’s Degree; Work Exp 1+ years in marketing, promotions, or related field.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education – Master’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Sports Administration, Athletic Leadership or related field; Work Exp 2+ years in collegiate athletic marketing or related field; Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Salary is commensurate with experience.

Normal Operations

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
