JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Coordinator, Office of Fraternity and Sorority Compliance

Penn State Student Affairs is seeking a Compliance Coordinator in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Compliance (OFSC). Reporting to the OFSC Senior Compliance Coordinator, this position will work with the OFSC team and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (OFSL) to help build a model social fraternity and sorority community at the University.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
training and educating the fraternity and sorority community about risk management and reduction; working with individual chapters to aid in the development of risk management plans

partnering with OFSL staff members to coach assigned chapters in successful practices

reviewing and evaluating social event registrations

delivering educational programs on Health and Safety

monitoring the social events of fraternities and sororities, including participating in a shared, rotating schedule to spot-check events and chapter facilities

helping organizations to develop relationships with neighborhood associations, long-term residents, and Borough of State College officials.

Typically requires a Master’s degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Successful candidates should have:
proven record of collaborating and communicating with students

understanding of risk management issues in the Greek community

demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

demonstrated ability to provide culturally competent and inclusive services for students from historically underrepresented communities

record of successful collaboration involving multiple constituencies

an understanding of risk management concepts

Candidates must demonstrate:
effective communication skills to include motivational interviewing, advising, and coaching

the ability to balance holding students accountable with developing positive, trusting relationships; the ability to resolve conflicts

strong interpersonal skills

presentation and training facilitation skills

Must be willing to work nights and weekends (as part of the shared, rotating spot-checking, approximately one week a month). This is a 10 month appointment. Full Penn State benefits included.
