Duties and Responsibilities
CONDUCT ADMINISTRATION: Serve as senior conduct administrator, investigating and adjudicating critical incidents of student misconduct occurring on- or off-campus.
CONDUCT ADMINISTRATION: Coordinate regular case management, process review meetings, and training with key stakeholders including Residence Life, First & Second Year Experience, Student Activities & Greek Affairs, and Office of International Programs.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION: Provide conflict resolution services and training for students, and assist with student advocacy and problem solving as assigned.
REPORTING AND ASSESSMENT: Track data to contribute to the assessment of OSCCR services and contribute to the development of assessment tools to assess office efficiency, effectiveness, and student learning. Deliver regular reporting of incident response and assist the Director in analyzing trends for assessment and tracking purposes. Responsible for overseeing compliance with Jeanne Clery Act, as well as Title IX and related laws.
OVERSIGHT: Provide maintenance of Maxient (student conduct database used by the OSCCR). Oversee edits and maintenance for the OSCCR website and Sakai site.
COLLABORATION : Serve as the primary liaison by providing guidance and direction for conduct processes for Residence Life, Student Activities & Greek Affairs, Arrupe College, faculty, and all other relevant areas and programs.
SUPERVISION: Supervise one full-time Coordinator.
ANCTIONING: Collaborate with campus partners, OSCCR staff, and other stakeholders to provide a comprehensive selection of educational and developmental resources and workshops for sanctioning.
COMPLIANCE: Comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the University Student Conduct System, including those of the Office of Civil Rights, Department of Education, and Department of Justice.
PROGRAMMING : Serve as liaison between the OSCCR and other departments for collaborative efforts, and contribute to the oversight of departmental programming initiatives.
AUXILIARY: Represent OSCCR on the Safety Net Coalition. Represent the Director on the Behavioral Concerns Team (BCT) as needed.
AUXILIARY: Attend regularly scheduled Student Life & Engagement and OSCCR staff meetings.
AUXILIARY: Attend University, Divisional, Student Life & Engagement events and programs as assigned.
AUXILIARY: Serve on committees and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Master’s degree in student affairs, student personnel, higher education, or other related field.
Three – five years of full time employment working with University conduct systems.
A minimum of 40 hours of mediation training.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in student affairs, student personnel, higher education, or other related field.
Three to five years of recent full time employment working with University conduct systems.
Restorative justice training/experience is preferred.
Strong advising, counseling and accredited mediation skills.
Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.
Ability to effectively interact with students, faculty, staff, families, and community members representing diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Ability to represent the department and University with care and tact.
Exhaustive knowledge of student conduct policies and procedures, including those related to Title IX and related regulations.
Demonstrated ability to utilize sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience and proficiency with Maxient, video platforms for training and presenting is a plus.
Ability to manage web content and use social media tools.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
- A minimum of 40 hours of mediation training.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and use of the internet. A familiarity with the student conduct database software, Maxient, is helpful but not necessary.
