Applicants are encouraged to apply for a Residential Coordinator position at Methodist University. Methodist University is a private liberal arts university located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Fayetteville is located along I-95 corridor and about 55 miles south of Raleigh. The 600 acre campus is adjacent to the beautiful Cape Fear River. This position is part of a 24/7 365 day on call duty rotation cycle within the department providing coverage during breaks, severe weather events and throughout the academic year. The RC is a 12 month position with summer conference management responsibilities, refurbishing project demands in our buildings, training and preparation. We have had very few discipline cases and very few close calls with students in crisis due to the time, attention and presence that our full time staff have with our students. Relationship building is essential to our success.
The Residential Coordinator fosters the development of a living-learning environment in the residence hall(s) in order to promote student and community development. Supervision could include more than one living-learning environment and/or building. This position reports directly to the Director of Housing & Residence Life.
Residential Coordinator is responsible for the day to day operations for North Hall (102 beds) and Greek Village Houses (125 beds). Supervises 8-10 Resident Assistants, maintains on call duty coverage, oversees the educational conferences for the area, plans staff meetings, training and professional development. Initiates the training and follow up for facility work orders, identifies ongoing maintenance issues in all areas, and oversees opening and closing preparation. The RC works 40-50 hours a week with several evening, weekend and late night responsibilities. RCs must have a valid driver’s license and able to lift 50 lbs. The RC is responsible for RA programming, area events, and the community development of the area. The RC must also be able to perform duties throughout the living and learning area each day to ensure health and safety standards are maintained. RCs also share the responsibility of being on call during vacations, at the end of each semester, during summer term sessions and holiday breaks. RCs in each area are responsible for the students, athletes and conference campers or guests who live on campus year round or during academic session breaks or between terms.
