Bucknell Athletics is seeking a Manager of Operations and Fan Engagement. This position provides leadership in fan experience, operations and corporate partnerships. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt, benefits eligible position.

Job Duties:

  • Serve as on-site event manager for select Division I athletic competition and special events, including Patriot League and NCAA Championships, PIAA High School Championships, and other externally contracted events in athletic facilities.
  • Support special departmental events such as pre-season basketball events, season ticket holder events, etc.
  • Facilitate marketing and promotional efforts for men’s & women’s basketball and football including facilitating meetings with coaches and other departments in order to strategize and enhance the gameday environment.
  • Support the development and implementation of initiatives to increase student attendance and engagement at athletic events specifically for men’s & women’s basketball and football while working closely with Student Affairs (Greek Life, International Student Resources, Resident Life).
  • Effectively oversee game day execution of established marketing plan, including but not limited to creating game entertainment scripts, promotions, giveaways, crowd engagement, and pregame/postgame constituent activities for men’s & women’s basketball and football.
  • Collaborate with department’s multimedia rights holder, Bucknell Sports Properties (Learfield), to develop entertaining in-game promotions and activation of sponsorships.
  • Direct gameday entertainment groups and special performers for men’s & women’s basketball and football which may perform during pregame, in-game, and/or postgame (color guard/national anthem; cheer/dance squads including mascot; pep band; halftime performers and special recognition ceremonies)
  • Perform other duties and/or jobs deemed necessary for the functioning and success of the event management team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One (1) year of experience in athletic events, operations, marketing, or promotions

This position will require a flexible work schedule and extended hours including but not limited to working early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays in addition to traditional business hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to create and maintain very specific timelines
  • Ability or willingness to learn to design marketing materials; proficient in use of Microsoft Office products and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Assertive, outgoing, hard-working, resourceful, as well as an independent thinker
