ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST
Position Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Office Location: Rutherford New Jersey Office / Hybrid

POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of the Accounts Payable Specialist is to maintain the flow of the accounts payable cycle and ensure all payments owed through vendors are processed. This individual will control the process by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling all invoices. This individual should have strong attention to detail, must have intermediate/advanced excel skills and proficient with accounting software, to ensure data is properly tracked and recorded in compliance with accounting policy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for accounting work to ensure accounts payable are processed in an efficient and timely manner.
Ability to reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing systems reports to balances.
Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions; ability to verify vendor’s accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Manages and prepares all invoices daily and send for approval; inspect all paid and unpaid invoices in order to maintain accurate filing.
Ensure payment to all vendors including creating and maintenance of vendor’s files.
Process/prepare batch check runs, wire transfers and ACH transactions; process remittance information for invoices provided by vendors to ensure proper disposition according to standards.
Charging expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices/expenses reports and recording entries.
Prepare non-inventory purchase order requisitions and help various departments with processing purchase orders.
Manage and verify all expense reports, ensure proper compliance with company policies.
Responsible for communication of internal/external inquiries concerning account status and resolution of discrepancies to the appropriate persons.
Files, maintains and distributes accounting documents, records and reports to appropriate persons
Assist with monthly closings and status reports.
Performs other general accounting tasks required to support Senior Accountant/CFO and Accounting Department.
SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
Proficiency in Excel, MS office
Ability to analyze, problem solve and must possess exceptional attention to detail
Must possess strong communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal skills and ability to work well in team environment
SAP knowledge preferred
