Utility Coordinator

Description

The purpose of this position is to receive and store groceries, deliver food and equipment to event sites and dining centers, and to perform routine custodial duties.

Duties & Responsibilities

Receive grocery items from the warehouse and direct ship vendors, verifying accuracy of the delivery to the invoice

Verify that incoming groceries are received within the proper temperature zone

Stock groceries in the storeroom, freezers, and coolers

Restocks milk in Dining Room

Maintain organized storeroom, coolers, and freezers

Assists with taking of physical inventory

Follows health and sanitation regulations in the receiving and storage of food products.

Handle and transport packages of fish, poultry, beef, lamb, pork and other meat products

Delivers meals to UND Children’s center, retail units, and Greek houses as directed

Delivers veg prep and vegetarian items to the dining centers and snack bars

Picks up last minute supplies from Central Foods

Relief driver for Central Foods, takes turn in the rotation of Saturday bakery deliveries

Transports food, supplies, and equipment to and from catered events

Completes equipment inventories, checks inventory in and out

Follows ND highway laws.

Follows health and sanitation regulations in the transporting of food.

Follows UND and State Safety, Sanitation, and HACCP Policies and procedures

Sweeps mops, and vacuums assigned areas

Cleans storerooms, coolers, and freezers

Fills soap and towel dispensers

Remove garbage from the dining centers

Assists in the ordering of cleaning supplies

Cleans carpets as assigned

Clean up spills

Supervise student custodians

Follows approved safety precautions: use correct procedures when lifting, used approved ladders, puts up wet floor signs when mopping floors, wears approved nonslip shoes, properly utilizes cleaning chemicals

Works in the concepts – cooking and stocking areas

Follows sanitation regulations in the concepts

Fills out any paperwork

Takes temps

Cleans concept – during and after shift

Adheres to all safety and sanitation policies which includes removal of all jewelry and piercings (plain wedding band is permissible) and wearing hair and beard nets in all food preparation areas

Required Competencies

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Able to work in various temperatures

Will stand/stoop/lift 3-4 hours at a time

Ability to move 100 pounds

Ability to read and understanding shipping invoices

Strong organizational skills

Experience and knowledge of the safety and health regulations used in the food business.

Have an optimistic attitude, high degree of integrity, and a strong work ethic

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Six months of experience with receiving and stocking inventory

Experience with the supplies, equipment, and methods used in custodial work to include but not limited to: floor scrub machine, steam clean machine, burnishing machine, cleaning chemicals, vacuum cleaner, ladders, pop machines, tents, grills, automated dish machine, vehicle washer and some catering equipment

Valid Driver’s License

Successful completion of a criminal history records check

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with inventory management

Two years of experience in food service or health organization

Custodial experience

Truck driving experience

NRA ServSafe Certification

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$15.00 increase to $15.75/hour after successful six month review, Full-time, Benefited, Non-exempt

Work Schedule/Start Date

Normal work schedule Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm with rotating weekends
