Position Description:
1. Directly responsible for increasing student engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
2. Directly influence student experiences by delivering student programs and advising student groups.
3. Focus on risk management and upholding policies to ensure the safety of students during events and activities as well as to foster the University’s mission.
4. Manage budgets and educate students on proper financial management to ensure that monetary resources are utilized appropriately and stay within budget guidelines.
5. Creates a culture of learning and engagement for students by applying student development theories and learning outcomes within student involvement to promote students’ academic and personal success.
Qualifications:
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Indicate minimum required to qualify or perform this job.)
Education/experience/licensing:
Master’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university, major in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum five (5) years of full-time, professional experience in higher education setting or working in a related field.One (1) to three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Experience with increasing level of responsibilities in supervision, advising student organizations, event planning, program development, and leadership development.
Experience working with Greek Life.[CFA1][SS2]
Broad knowledge of student development and leadership theories and ability to apply theories to professional practice and programming.
Demonstrated ability in assessment of student services and use of assessment results in making changes that improve the delivery of services and programs for students.
Experience with student conduct and crisis intervention in a higher education environment.[CFA3][SS4]
Experience with budget preparation and management.
Must be committed to diversity and inclusion and have a proven ability to effectively work with diverse populations.
Proficiency with office technology.
Communication and other skills:
Ability to manage complex administrative processes effectively and efficiently.
Strong listening and organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Comfortable public speaking in large and small groups.
Demonstrated problem-solving, conflict resolution, team management, and leadership skills.
Ability to effectively communicate utilizing social media and other electronic communication systems.
Ability to prioritize, strategically plan, work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions and change of focus.
