Primary Function: Under direct supervision, installs, maintains, tests, and repairs systems and networks. Utilizes basic technical knowledge to support IT initiatives and provide first-level technical information systems support to the OCS Staff, Students and Families. Resolves routine technical problems.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis

Ability to work both independently and with a team

Ability to prioritize work flows

Proficient verbal and written communication skills

Excellent problem analysis, organizational, and prioritizing skills

Ability to work in a collaborative environment

High level of integrity and ethical standards

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to and resolve all IT help desk tickets on a daily basis and escalate issues where appropriate. follow up on any outstanding issues and close tickets accordingly. All tickets should be handled and closed within a reasonable timeframe defined by the nature of the request.

Assist in basic problem solving with various software applications and hardware systems for OCS Staff, Students and families.

Provide technical instruction and training for software applications and hardware systems as needed.

Accurately maintain IT record keeping systems and OCS user guides for employee reference.

Accurately track the disseminate the use of School equipment.

Assist department in maintaining proper levels of inventory for all equipment and materials.

Establish and maintain a tracking data base. Accurately perform data entry and maintenance of records in real-time, including, but not limited to, expenses and billing information, project documents, user instructions, general reports and/or systems errors.

Review, evaluate and recommend solutions relating to hardware and software acquisitions and/or network updates.

Assist with research, development and implementation of new technologies.

Assist in implementation of technology projects with moderate scope and impact.

Assist with installation, configuration and maintenance of computers, workstations and/or other related equipment and devices.

Effectively provide technical assistance and perform maintenance duties; including maintenance of all building copiers to ensure full functionality.

Maintain a working knowledge of the most up-to-date IT developments, processes and practices; includes staying abreast of latest news and developments in technology, such as; equipment, applicable laws, regulations, standards and/or systems.

Keep the IT Manager apprised of local, state and federal legislation, policies and practices, compliance and other related matters that could impact school operations.

Provide daily office supports including answering and responding to calls and managing IT office.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.

Works cooperatively with all staff and parents.

Performs other duties as assigned

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Sitting and/or standing for long periods of time

Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and/or standing and/or walking an average of four (4) hours per day.
