Position Summary

The Assistant Director(s) for Student Leadership Development shall report to the Director of Student Leadership Development and assist with the development, administration, and implementation of a comprehensive leadership development program for students at William & Mary with primary focus on advising, providing resources, and supporting the fraternity and sorority community.

Provide oversight and direction to a comprehensive fraternity/sorority program including: advising council officers, advising chapter leaders and members, providing liaison services to advisors and representatives of the national umbrella organizations, planning/developing leadership & educational programs, and overseeing assessment initiatives for fraternity/sorority life.

o Support efforts to develop a comprehensive leadership program for recognized clubs and organizations. This will include year round initiatives to help these organizations better meet their full potential and more effectively cultivate the leadership development process associated with co-curricular involvement.

o Actively collaborate with other campus departments in support of fraternities and sororities (Dean of Students, Residence Life, etc.) Actively serve in collaborative roles/task force opportunities within the Division of Student Affairs.

o Other duties as assigned that forward the mission of the Office of Student Leadership Development to serve students and the university.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience working with Greek-letter organizations
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse colleagues, students, and staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Student Personnel, Counseling, or Organizational Development is preferred.
  • Experience in college-setting student engagement environments (leadership development initiatives, and student activities programs and services)
  • Experience working with National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) member groups/councils and other culturally based Greek-letter organizations
  • Experience working with a fully structured formal panhellenic recruitment process
  • Experience with program design, delivery, and facilitation for student leadership trainings and development

Advertised Pay Range $45,000-$48,000 Commensurate with Experience
