Job Summary

The Office of Greek Life at Auburn University is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Director, Greek Life. Reporting to the Director, this position oversees the Greek community leadership development, educational programs, awards and recognitions, and health and safety

standards for Greek Life and affiliated fraternities and sororities.

Essential Functions

Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops, assesses, and reviews the planning and facilitation of educational programs related to the Greek Life community.
  • Develops and advises the Greek Programming Board, a student organization affiliated with the Greek Life Office.
  • Oversees the development of administrative practices that service the Greek community, including, but not limited to, developing communication protocol, collection process for roster management, data collection, and

event registration and details.

  • Oversees the housing and compliance area of Greek Life, ensuring staff and facilities are in accordance with University and Greek Life standards and expectations.
  • Ensures that chapters receive regular training and review of their risk management and event management protocols and policies, including Student Organization Social Event Policy.
  • Serves as a liaison to Student Conduct regarding adjudication of fraternities and sororities related to organizational misconduct.
  • Ensures records are received and kept in compliance with university policies, procedures, and all federal, local, and state laws.

The ideal candidate should possess a sincere desire and ability to immediately serve and support our students and the surrounding community. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to draw upon significant relationships with internal and external constituents are needed. The candidate must have exemplary written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to listen and synthesize new information and systems. The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is crucial. Strong organizational skills including a keen attention to detail is required. The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform high quality work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment are also critical for this position. The successful candidate will demonstrate innovation and flexibility in all aspects of the work environment. A commitment to a diverse and inclusive campus environment is required.

Desired Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have a master’s degree and experience working on a college campus supporting Fraternity and Sorority Life with a focus on operationalizing organization events and managing facilities and housing. The candidate will have a demonstrated ability to effectively design and implement programs and processes in a large, decentralized environment. In addition to Microsoft Office, the preferred candidate will have experience with Maxient Conduct Manager, Campus Labs/Anthology student organization software, Box, Teams, Qualtrics and other technology platforms. The preferred candidate will understand qualitative and quantitative assessment practices and how to improve educational programming using those practices. The preferred candidate will also have an in-depth understanding of how to apply AFA’s Core Competencies and use them proficiently in their daily tasks.

Salary Grade 34

Salary Range $45,100 – $75,100
