Job Description:

The successful candidate for Assistant Director of Marketing, Student Affairs will support the Marketing & Communications Division by carrying out an integrated communications and marketing plan for the student affairs division that contributes to enrollment and retention. Act as principal marketing liaison for student affairs.
Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage marketing and communication efforts for student affairs programs and events.
  • Work with Strategic Enrollment Management/Enrollment Communications on marketing and communications efforts to support the achievement of new student roster goals in the areas of Performing Arts, Greek Life, Club Sports, Commuters, and other cohorts as well as overall new student goals through effective marketing of student life opportunities and experiences.
  • Act as primary marketing contact for student affairs division. Meet regularly with leadership, program coordinators and departments to help articulate their story. Grow to deeply understand the area and its goals.
  • Traffic requests and initiatives back to marketing team in collaboration with strategic enrollment management to execute marketing plans that support recruitment and retention. Keep detail project plans and timelines.
  • Share student stories with communications team when applicable.
  • Coordinate social media presence and platforms as needed.
  • Coordinate website for each area from a recruitment and retention perspective.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills. Must demonstrate strong writing, editorial, proof-reading skills.
  • Understanding of how marketing efforts influence enrollment and retention of students.
  • Knowledge of social media and online marketing strategy.
  • Demonstrated success in marketing or related field.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Must be willing to work against tight deadlines while balancing multiple projects at once.
  • Sound ethical decision-making skills, enthusiasm and respect for confidential issues.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, resourceful and accountable to schedules.
  • Collaborator/Liaison. Must be a proactive communicator, a team player, eager and able to anticipate and uncover new opportunities and needs. Should have a personality that facilitates active collaboration with internal departments to support and produce marketing materials. Also acts as steward of the SHU brand identity with regard to enrollment communications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Communications or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Additional Information:

Evening and weekend hours may be required. Occasional travel required.
