Assistant Director, Student Life

The purpose of this position is to focus on the comprehensive development, implementation, and management of a Greek Life program that serves members of the 14 Interfraternity Council, College Panhellenic Council, and National Pan-Hellenic Council fraternities and sororities, assist with Student Life programming, events, and initiatives, and represent the Director of Student Life when they are unavailable.

1. Attend University committee and division meetings and represent the Director of Student Life when they are unavailable.
2. Serve as advisor to the College Panhellenic Council (CPC), Interfraternity Council (IFC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and Order of Omega; provide community support through one-on-one meetings with council officers and attendance at council meetings.
3. Provide training to all new officers of the CPC, IFC, and NPHC Greek councils at the start of the new officer cycles and as needed throughout the year.
4. Provide guidance and support to chapter presidents and officers through regular one-on-one meetings; specifically with presidents, recruitment chairs, academic officers, and philanthropy chairs.
5. Direct the coordination of formal and informal recruitment activities for CPC, IFC and NPHC. Be familiar with recruitment terminology, processes, and technology.
6. Support the Greek community in planning and implementing annual community wide events such as Greek Weekend.
7. Work with Greek chapters to develop a Family Weekend in the fall semester for all Greek organizations.
8. Keep accurate Education Release forms on file for all active members, maintain rosters in Banner/Argos for grade reports and with UMPD for chapter room access.
9. Serve as primary approver of Panhellenic, IFC, and NPHC Greek events in FalconLink and train all Panhellenic, IFC and NPHC Greek officers on FalconLink usage.
10. Coordinate the annual Greek Standards process; train presidents on process, maintain paperwork, and distribute awards.
11. Develop and coordinate leadership workshops and membership development activities as necessary; including risk management training, bystander intervention workshops, and leadership transition workshops.
12. Serve as a liaison to Housing & Residence Life with regards to Greek chapter rooms and halls.
13. Maintain accurate records of chapter officers, members, and advisors; as well as records of scholarship, community service, social events, and other pertinent statistics.
14. Serve as primary point of contact for chapter inter/national organizations, alumni corporations and chapter advisors.
15. Serve as fiscal officer for Greek Council accounts, ensuring that all fiduciary commitments and budgetary obligations are met.
16. Facilitate student leadership development and campus civility in all areas of Student Life.
17. Assist in the maintenance of Student Life web pages by regularly providing updated information on Greek Life.
18. Assist with coordination of all Orientation events including planning, logistics, and day-of duties.
19. Assist with Orientation Leader selection and training as needed.
20. Assist with student organization and FalconLink training.
21. Assist with programs sponsored by the Student Life Office such as Orientation, the Big Event, UPC Events, and Special Programming.

Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master’s degree in the area of Student Affairs or related area preferred. This position requires two years of related experience
Graduate experience may count toward two years of related experience.

Pay: $36,164.00 – $49,540.00 per year
