responsibilities

The Azure Consultant role entails a variety of responsibilities:

• Scope out a simple or semi-complex project based on business requirements and achievable benefits. 
• Create and lead a semi-complex project plan and Statement of Work. 
• Evaluate, design, and implement enterprise IT-based business solutions, often working on-site to help customers deploy their solutions (MS Services specific).
• Lead teams for deployment activities and to meet deliverables (MS Services specific). 
• Have strong client satisfaction awareness (MS Services specific). 
• Lead technology decisions and facilitate and articulate alternatives and direction to Senior IT and Business Management (MS Services specific). 
• Posses strong Project Management Skills (MS Services specific) 

requirements

The successful candidate for the Azure Consultant position will need the following skills: 

• Bachelor’s degree and relevant industry work experience in a customer facing consulting role 
• Ability to work both independently as well as collaborating in a fast-paced team environment with changing technology and customer requirements 
• Understanding of Microsoft’s Azure Cloud strategy 
• Experience working with any of the following: Agile & Scrum; Azure Cloud Operations, Management & Optimisation; Azure Monitoring; Azure Cost Management; Azure Networking, Network Watcher; Azure Security (Sentinel), Azure Backup & Disaster Recovery; OnPrem Datacenter to Azure Cloud Migration; OnPrem workload to Azure Cloud migration; Secure DevOps; Enterprise Git; OSS; Linux. 
• Candidate should be able to engage in a variety of customer engagements with focus on Azure.
• Assisting customers in the design and implementation of architectures within Azure that can range from single application or service deployment in Azure to full scale migration and cloud modernisation projects.
• A good grasp on the fundamentals of Azure based on Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework and be able to discuss and deliver workshops on all the key areas such as, Azure Networking & Hybrid connectivity architectures, Security, Governance, Identity, Storage, Azure DevOps and automation, Backup and Disaster Recovery, Availability and Resilience options.
• As well as leading on these deliveries the candidate should be able to gather requirements from these workshops and produce HLD and LLD design documentation and have a good grasp on the technologies and DevOps processes for the deployment of these environments.”
• Azure related knowledge such as Networking, Security, Identity, DR, Storage, Governance (management groupssubscription), IaaS and PaaS solutions, at enterprise level. and direct infrastructure related experience including on-prem to cloud migrations, platform migration, cloud modernisation.
