Position Summary:
This position significantly contributes to the success of the Business Intelligence group by making fundamental improvements in how information is managed, business processes are operated, physical processes are controlled, and work flow is directed to efficiently achieve the integration and orchestration of all activities required for operational reporting and analytics. The focus of this role is principally on exploring, documenting, and designing how key business requirements can be satisfied through process improvement, data repository development, or user interface development that improves corporate performance. The job will involve interacting with internal teams to understand business requirements, identifying appropriate data sources, data cleansing / standardization, and matching data. This position will routinely need to work through challenges in data sourcing and integrating disparate datasets, data capture, reporting, analytics, and statistics.

Responsibilities:
Actively engage with business users to analyze business needs, gather, and document business and solution requirements guided by best practices.

Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. Includes evaluation, analysis, documentation of requirements, translation into proper system requirement specifications and implementation support.

Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both end-user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems, applications, data architecture, and industry requirements.

Works across business organizations to create and maintain an integrated approach to data flow, information management, and report/dashboard end-user deliverables.

Works with the technology architects and developers to design integrated solutions across systems within the company environment and to ensure all data requirements, migrations and standards are clearly understood and implemented.

Understands the business implications of technical solutions, and assists in defining, designing, and documenting the technology solutions to support any future business needs.

Ensures that documentation is updated when change requests are approved for the project throughout development to ensure quality and traceability.

Creates, reviews, and delivers end-user documentation (user guide, process flow charts, training materials) and training for new business solutions.

Works with the user to select or create appropriate scenarios to test all results to determine whether system met project specifications; uses scenarios to assist the end user in acceptance testing. This may include performing user acceptance testing on behave of users to validate resulting data sets.

Requirements:
Requires 3-5 years of experience in business systems analysis, requirements documentation, data structure design/specification, and test case development.

Deep knowledge of data warehousing applications and MS SQL is required.

Requires 3-5 years of proficiency in MS SQL including Management Studio, stored procedure development, and database design / modeling.

Proficiency with the MS Office product suite is required. Experience with several of the following: Salesforce CRM, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, Snowflake, Alteryx, or Tableau a plus.

Applies research, analytical, and interpretation skills to solve problems of diverse scope. Develops solutions to address a variety of problems of moderate complexity. Screens, evaluates, reconciles, reports, and identifies data integrity issues.

Works on assignments where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making choices, decisions, or recommendations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and identify serious issues that require escalation.

Ability to identify solutions to address business process and data challenges and apply cost effective solutions.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science or Computer Science preferred.
