InterVarsity has a long history of ministry at ODU, but has not had a full-time staff in two years. The ministry has a strong small group culture even as the entire chapter tends to be tightly knit relationally. Over the years there have been successful niche small groups including Nursing, Greek, and BCM.
A Campus Staff Minister must be gifted in developing student leaders, contextualizing ministry to different campus communities, ministering cross-culturally, and motivating students toward campus outreach and witness. All staff are expected to raise their ministry budget and will receive training and supervision to this end. Past involvement or at least familiarity with InterVarsity is strongly preferred. This position can be full or part-time.
