HERFF JONES, Client Technology Manager – Kansas City, KS

The Client Technology Manager is responsible for the developing, leading, and motivating a team of IT Support professionals to deliver excellent technical/non-technical support with outstanding customer service, satisfaction, and timeliness within the organization’s budget.

The Client Technology Manager is responsible for formulating policies, goals and objectives for the Client Technology Team and for directing the management of the Herff Jones’ support operations in accordance with industry best practice and company policy, guidelines and directives. This person must manage and supervise the daily activities of the Client Technology Team, to include training, coaching, organizing, planning, and staffing operations. Additional responsibilities of a Client Technology Manager include managing multiple projects and meeting established deadlines, building positive relationships with customers and clients and any special projects as assigned. Assigned staff development and mentorship is also the responsibility of this position. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to provide guidance to help identify, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT Infrastructure investments.

Responsibilities

Manage and supervise the daily activities of the Client Technology Team.

Assist in the professional and technical development of team leaders enabling them to set technical goals, monitor, mentor, coach and assist team members to deliver quality support.

Inspect and review job performance of direct reports.

Directs the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Client Technology Team.

Develops long- and short-term goals and objectives for the Client Technology Team that are consistent with company goals and objectives.

Develop a customer care philosophy based on Service Quality Leadership that ensures customer satisfaction

Coordinates and approves operating budgets for all Client Technology functions.

Coordinates Client Technology plans as needed with Plant Managers and IT managers across the company.

Resolve daily issues that impact the team and overall business objectives.

Work with outside vendors and service providers to always stay in touch with new and or improved functionality of services or hardware that may benefit the organization.

Participate in and drive participation of the organization’s change management process.

Develop and enhance cooperative interdepartmental and vendor relationships and communications.

Perform director’s responsibilities in his absence.

Position Requirements

Ten years minimum IT experience.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Technical certifications a plus.

Proven experience in IT Support operations capacity.

Experience with and a good understanding of project management principles.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.

Exceptionally self-motivated and directed.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Strong negotiating skills.

Ability to maintain staff and ensure projects remain on schedule.

Ability to build teams, lead meetings, efforts and initiatives.

Ability to travel as required. Approximately 10% travel required.

Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development.

Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
