Job Summary

The Division of Student Affairs at Auburn University is seeking applications for the position of Coordinator of Greek Life. Specifically, the position will advise and support the Interfraternity Council (IFC) consisting of 25 inter/national fraternities whose membership comprises 25% of the Auburn undergraduate male population. This position requires someone who is committed to supporting an inclusive and diverse campus environment. Long hours, sometimes nights and weekends, will be required at peak times.

Essential Functions

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Advise the Interfraternity Council, its officers and related committees
  • Support fraternity chapter objectives, meeting individually with chapter officers and advisors
  • Manage the recruitment and new member processes for IFC fraternities
  • Manage online programs that support chapter management, recruitment, finances, and other essential functions
  • Coordinate and implement large-scale IFC programs, including new member education, risk management training, philanthropic events, and more.
  • Respond to crisis situations on campus involving fraternity events
  • Serve as a liaison between Auburn University and key constituents interested in the fraternity community including Auburn University faculty and staff, fraternity headquarters staff, chapter advisors, parents, alumni, and community members
  • Lead the training for chapter officers, organizing leadership workshops and retreats
  • Collaborate with Auburn University fraternity chapters and the Assistant Director of Greek Life in the management of fraternity property and the registration of events
  • Support and advise the disciplinary process and assist with investigations involving fraternities and sororities
  • Supervise one graduate assistant

Education Level Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Field of Study

Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.

Desired Qualifications

Desired qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Business or related field
  • Knowledge of national trends and expectations and issues relevant to fraternities and sororities, specifically those organizations affiliated with the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC)
  • Prior advising experience with student programs and/or Greek letter organizations
  • Demonstrated leadership in initiating and implementing educational programming among student groups/organizations
  • Superior skills in interpersonal and written communication, attention to detail, time management, and organization
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to multi-task and perform high quality work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Salary Grade 31

Salary Range $31,300 – $58,400
