JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual to build their career with our Facilities team as a Custodian. This is a dynamic role where you will be a key part of our Facilities Team with objectives including:

  • Ensuring sanitation and cleanliness of facilities through performance of assigned duties
  • Duties consist of but are not limited to housekeeping and janitorial duties to maintain offices, warehouse, freezer areas, and public areas in clean and orderly condition
  • Changing batteries, controlling the correct flow on battery life and documenting damage to equipment

HOW YOU’LL HELP THE TEAM SUCCEED:

  • Clean outside areas as needed
  • Clean under dock plates
  • Snow removal from all walk ways and exit doors; may operate snow removal equipment.
  • Sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing and vacuuming floors using equipment such as brooms, vacuum, buffers and shampooer for all areas in facility
  • Empty trash cans in and around the facility
  • Scrub Warehouse with equipment
  • Clean racks, fire systems, fire extinguishers, windows, offices restrooms and break rooms
  • Pull pallets and clean slots
  • Operate scrubber, pallet jack and scissor lift
  • Mix own cleaning solutions to appropriate strength; replenishes soap, towels, and tissue containers and performs related tasks
  • May assist other service personnel with minor repairs including painting
  • Perform other work required as assigned by the Facilities Maintenance Manager and/or operations manager

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

  • Ability to read and understand cleaning instructions and information
  • Ability to lift 25 to 75 lbs periodically
  • Able to work in different temperatures for sustained periods of time (-10 degrees, 30 degrees, room temperature)
  • Ability to be able to take instruction and work well independently
  • Ability to use cleaning chemicals safely
  • Ability to understand and operate all equipment safely (buffer, scrubber, scissor lift, pallet jack)
  • Comfortable work on ladders and in confined areas safely
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
