responsibilities

The Data Analyst/Engineer is the person responsible for analyzing datasets and providing appropriate visualizations and key insights which will assist our customers on their decision-making processes. He or she will be focused on understanding business needs and translating related data into actual insights. In cooperation with others (or autonomously), he or she is responsible for the technical and visual implementation, making sure the delivery of a quality output.

You will be responsible to:

  • Analyze and interpret customer business needs into application and operational requirements. 
  • Design and implement data models and produce detailed functional designs.
  • Design, develop and automate ETL solutions.
  • Implement solution integration with data visualization tools and reporting software.
  • Prepare technical solution mockups to assist for presales purposes / demos. 
  • Get the opportunity to work on micro-projects in areas that you can identify a possible improvement
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

The right candidate for this Data Analyst/Engineer role should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree holder related to Computer Science, Statistics or Information Systems
  • Proven working experience of one to three years.
  • Very strong in tech. You know your way around Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
  • You have a very good understanding of SDLC concepts.
  • You have strong database programming skills (T-SQL or PL- SQL) and have worked on known RDMS platforms (preferably MSSQL Server). You are fluent in writing SQL queries and reading Data Models.
  • Use of Python or R languages should also be one your signature skills. Having experience as a S/W Developer will be considered a plus.
  • You have strong knowledge of Data Warehouse principles.
  • Good knowledge and/or working experience with data analytics platforms (Tibco Spotfire, Microsoft Power BI, Qlik Sense or Qlik View) is also a must.
  • You are resourceful, creative and passionate about your work. You genuinely care for it and appreciate the need of delivering high quality output. 
  • You are proactive, self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • You bring new ideas on the table and constantly try to improve.
  • You have a strong orientation towards team working, collaboration and support of colleagues, always maintaining a positive approach towards situations. You love sharing your knowledge with your peers. 
  • You may occasionally be required to travel or support and communicate with your colleagues, remotely.
  • You are polite, creative, punctual, thorough with attention to detail.

Skills and experience on the following areas will benefit you: 

  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery 
  • Basic understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS, vue.js 
  • Familiarity with Office 365 environment
  • Proficient understanding and/or experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, Pentaho, Alteryx etc.
  • Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Previous working experience in a corporate environment is desirable (but not a must). Related professional certifications are welcome.
  • Excellent command of the Greek and English languages is required. 
  • Experience in working under a standard Project Management methodology and principles will be considered a plus.

This is a full-time position, located in Athens, Greece, requiring physical presence in our offices, during standard working days and hours.
