Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Scientist professional who excels in the extraction, modeling, and visualization of data. The successful candidate must also be experienced in providing analytical thought leadership, and data management strategy. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for applying business process knowledge and data analytics to develop, recommend and communicate timely, accurate, relevant, and actionable insights to support business decisions across Sotera Health.

Primary Responsibilities

Ask probing questions to translate business needs to build and design reporting solutions (KPI management, dashboards)

Use knowledge of business objectives, strategies, and needs to identify opportunities where data can be leveraged to achieve the desired business benefit

Create data collection methodologies and plans and provide solutions as needed to ensure accuracy of all reporting

Prepare and analyze data. This can include: locating, profiling, cleansing, extracting, mapping, importing, transforming, validating, and modeling data.

Access and aggregate large, structured, and unstructured raw data sets from multiple internal/external sources and transform into meaningful analyses, actionable insights, and practical information for decision making.

Interpret results of analyses, identify trends and issues, and develop recommendations to support business objectives

Clearly and concisely communicate complex results and methods to business audiences

Provide in-depth analysis and modeling that provide learnings about ongoing trends, performance against KPIs, potential issues, and new opportunities that will contribute to the company’s continued growth

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or higher with quantitative focus in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or another relevant quantitative field

EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of proven abilities related to data mining, data analytics, data modeling, data management, business analysis, information technology etc.

Ability to utilize a diverse array of technologies and tools as needed to deliver business insights, such as R, Python, and SQL etc.

Advanced skills in emerging Cloud capabilities such as Azure (Datafactory, SQL, PowerBI); Implementing and optimizing data pipelines

Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.

Experience with complex data environments – developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting; leveraging disparate data sources, including 3rd party data

Analyze source systems, define underlying data sources and transformation requirements, design suitable data models, and document the design/specifications

Experience with data visualization tools, dashboard design techniques for effective data analysis and presentation

Business acumen (Strong understanding of how business operates, and how to harness data and analytics to meet business needs)

Strong presentation skills
