The Director of Finance is responsible for plant financial controls and analysis for our Twin Falls, ID plant location. The role manages all aspects of plant finance and controlling. The position is a strategic partner and primary finance liaison for our plant based manufacturing leadership team and the VP of Twin Falls Manufacturing. The person will heavily interact with Corporate Controllership and ensure SOX and GAAP compliance. This role also ensures high level, cross-functional communication with emphasis on financial performance, controls, trend analysis and delivery of productivity initiatives.
Responsibilities
Month end close and SOX / GAAP compliance for Plant operations
Ensure that costs for products and services are aligned to corporate policy and in compliance with financial accounting standards
Oversees the cost control systems, manages and interprets cost audits, and prepares cost accounting reports for management
Monitor spending and provide strategic cost reduction tactics to Finance leadership team. Facilitate productivity discussions and ensure proper quantification and delivery of productivity targets
Monitor Material pricing and variance accounts for respective location
Identify risk, opportunities, and impacts of future concept products
Provides reporting of cost data (material, labor, variable and fixed overhead, etc.) to provide variances between budget and actual expenses
Manages the cost accounting team to provide accurate analysis of capital projects and expenditures
Manages and provides a consolidation of the operations budget and forecasts for each division and assures respective location budgets are compliant with corporate policy
Provides guidance and tracking for operations continuous improvement projects
Assures proper policy guidelines and fixed asset management and provides guidance and analysis for operations capital expenditures for the specific plant
Collaborates with FP&A team to provide analysis and data as required
Monitor spending vs. forecast and report on variances for one or more plants or sets of cost centers
Perform ad hoc analysis to support plant operations and/or divisional work streams.
Collaborate with Director of SC Finance (FP&A) and Plant Controller counterpart to ensure consistent approach to managerial and scorecard reporting
Requirements
10+ years of broad financial experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably publicly traded manufacturing company.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business required; CPA or CMA required
Experience in designing and maintaining Controls, Risk Controls Matrices and remediating control deficiencies
Standard costing and general GAAP knowledge; direct experience with SOX controls
Advanced MS Excel/Power Point skills required
SAP experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated financial analysis and modeling expertise
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
Ability to provide thought leadership to shape future decisions
Ability to work independently, and proactively develop solutions with minimal guidance
Capacity to analyze complex problems and make decisions in a timely manner
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, a team focus, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams
