JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Procurement is a senior-level role charged with leading Sterigenics International’s Procurement organization for all enterprise spend and proactively managing Sterigenics’ annual spend base. This role serves as the senior strategic leader of the global Procurement team, with regular access and exposure to executives throughout the enterprise and across our divisions in order to advocate for procurement objectives and critical procurement-related activities. The Director of Procurement will develop and execute a strategic vision for Procurement across Sterigenics and will elevate Procurement’s status by exceeding internal stakeholder expectations and earning the respect of senior leaders across all divisions.

The Director of Procurement serves as an integral partner with the leadership of all of Sterigenics’ business units and ensures that procurement plans and initiatives are aligned with Sterigenics’ ability to meet strategic goals related to growth, cost savings, and risk management. A successful candidate will have a deep customer service orientation and will be focused on delivering the best and highest value to Procurement’s “customers” so that the organization is sought after as an internal partner.

The Director of Procurement will act as a change agent, leading Sterigenics’ evolution in best practice procurement capabilities by implementing an operating model and governance structures where strategic sourcing is driven from an enterprise-wide perspective. Strong relationship skills and the ability to interface at all levels of the organization will help this person successfully manage resistance and work through the challenges common with organizational change.

Responsibilities

The Director of Procurement will oversee approximately $350MM of external spend (70/30) direct v. indirect) within the company’s global platform.

Collaborating with leadership to establish both short-term and long-term Procurement strategies and objectives

Evaluating Procurement’s status and advocating on Procurement’s behalf both with executive management and with departmental/divisional peers

Developing and maintaining strong relationships with business unit leadership and strategic supplier partners and actively seek to demonstrate value

Communicating strategies, priorities, goals, challenges, and results to Sterigenics executives and stakeholders

Leading Sterigenics’ enterprise strategic sourcing program and supporting complex sourcing efforts

Innovating, championing, and implementing continuous improvement opportunities in Procurement processes, procedures, and systems, and governance structures

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Candidates must have their BS or BA, MBA desirable

CPM, CPIM preferred

EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of experience in Business, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, or Consulting

Demonstrated management capabilities, especially related to leading strategic initiatives, driving performance, leading change efforts, and producing superior results

Recognized as a leader, who has recruited, trained, developed personnel, and lead successful teams
