Emergency Response Consultant (ERC) – On-Call/Network – WOB

Our networkers have a wide variety of experiences and knowledge within the Emergency Management Field. We provide 24/7 response services to clients, including training, exercise facilitation, and response management. Networkers on staff are available on an on-call basis to augment our consulting, planning, and response efforts. Networkers are activated and paid to respond to our clients planned and unplanned events.

The ideal candidate will have documented experience and training in emergency management. We are looking for team members who are trained to use the Incident Command System (ICS), familiar with response management practices, and able to maintain a high state of readiness in the event of an emergency. Our team members are called upon to fill the Incident or Spill Management Team roles during our clients’ emergencies. Being a networker requires executive presence with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Position Details

Location : Remote

Position Type: Consultant / On-Call Employee

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay: Hourly

Compensation : Commensurate with experience

Travel: 25%

Essential Job Functions

Provide 24/7 spill response services to clients during their unplanned events by filling ICS positions as required.

Provide onsite and/or remote support to clients during their training events (HAZWOPER, ICS, QI, Spill Prevention Control, Countermeasure (SPCC), etc.) and tabletop exercises.

Maintain a personal and professional high state of readiness and training to support clients.

Stay abreast of current affairs and practices in the local response community.

Be alert and aware at all times and anticipate clients’ needs.

Constantly seek new business opportunities for the Company.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

5+ years’ experience in the field of emergency response such as civil unrest, man-made disasters, natural disasters, chemical spills, vessel casualties, oil spills or releases of hazardous materials or equivalent experience

Current Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification appropriate for your ICS role, training, and experience (40-hr, 24-hr, or 8-hr)

Current certifications in Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, and 300 & IS 700 and 800

Must be highly independent, capable of making decisions in a highly charged and dynamic environment, and skilled in team building and consensus building

Must have basic computer skills, including using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and PowerPoint.

Maintains a personal high state of readiness and professional training

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Able to remain calm under stressful situations

Possess a valid State issued driver’s license, and a satisfactory driving record

Preferred Job Requirements

Qualified and experience as an ICS Command or General Staff Team Member

Familiar with the preparation, activation, and demobilization of Incident Command Posts and/or Emergency Operations Centers

Familiar with National, Regional, Local Contingency Plans, priorities, and processes

Ability to speak and write in other languages is a plus, particularly those that are helpful in the marine community, such as Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese, Greek, Tagalog, etc.

Experience using virtual platforms/applications (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Goto Meetings, Webex, etc.)

ICS-339, 400, 449, and ICS role specific courses

Current Helicopter Underwater Escape Training and/or Basic Offshore Induction and Safety Training certifications

Oil Spill Management Workshop such as International Maritime Organization (IMO) Level 3 or equivalent

Hold a current TSA Transportation Worker Identification Card

Work Schedule

May require deployment within 8 hours of notification

May require irregular/extended work hours

May require extended periods of time working at a computer or desk environment

May have to relocate to emergency site that require functioning under moderate physical and mental stress

May require travel to areas damaged by disaster

Deployments will require networkers to make travel and lodging arrangements which will be reimbursed on a regular basis.
