HERFF JONES, Hem Sleeve Machine Operator – Arcola IL
YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
The Herff Jones Cap and Gown team, based in Arcola IL, is looking for a hem sleeve machine operator to join our team.
Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact:
As a team member of the department you will be required to learn all positions to provide optimal production in the department. Flexibility is necessary to perform other functions as needed. This includes, but not limited to, warehouse pick/pack duties, inventory related activities, and cross-training opportunities in other departments.

As we see it for right now, however, here are the challenges that we want you to tackle:
Will learn to inspect all component parts to make certain they meet our quality standards and correspond to the bundling ticket.
Will learn how to operate the automated sleeve hemmer machine.
Will learn about all product lines.
Responsible for cleaning machine, changing needles, and thread.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Must be self-motivated.
Reading, writing and math skills commensurate with job duties.
Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential job functions.
Must be able to recognize colors and different cloth styles.
Sitting or standing for 8 hours a day or longer during the busy season.
Able to lift 30lbs multiple times a day
Must have strong communication skills
Job may require lifting to, but not exceeding 30 pounds.
Must be able to work all mandatory overtime
