Work with ICARE core members to identify USD campus and community stakeholders and to meet and develop sexual assault response team. Work with ICARE core members to coordinate victim responses, prevention efforts and training, and facilitate marketing efforts. Serves as member of and staff to the Student Services, collaborating with the Chief Title IX Officer and staff across the University. Develop and oversee educational materials, marketing, and prevention messaging campaign programs for students. Conduct outreach programs including mandatory prevention programming for incoming students and programming for specialized populations (e.g., minority and underrepresented groups, resident assistants, student leaders, student-athletes, and Greek organizations). Recruit, train, and organize educational programming at USD. Work with the CORE members to develop and implement emergency and follow-up procedures on campus and the surrounding community among emergency personnel, university student rights and responsibilities officers, and service providers. Assist with the mandatory prevention efforts for incoming students, website update and overhaul, and the development of a peer-led, bystander intervention program. Ensure that Student Services websites on sexual misconduct are current and informative for students seeking information and assistance Coordinate assessment efforts on education and training programs, and collaborate with others on the University Climate Survey; perform other duties as assigned. Provide mental health as well as substance abuse and prevention counseling to students. This includes crisis counseling and screening/assessing students.
A four-year college degree along with one to three years of related experience is required; a graduate degree is preferred. The selected candidate must have a knowledge and understanding of sexual misconduct, assault, bystander intervention education and programming; strong presentation and facilitation skills; excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to talk about sexual misconduct easily and comfortably with all audiences; and proficient computer and other electronic media skills including PowerPoint, basic knowledge of statistics and assessment practices. Criminal Background Checks are required for all University of South Dakota positions.
