Job Overview
The postholder supports the implementation of employability activities at the Athens Solidarity Centre, with a focus on people facing barriers to access the labor market. Working under the guidance of the Employability Services Coordinator, the officer will support beneficiaries in preparing for employment, provide guidance on job-searching, and assist with employability activities and events.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide basic employability support to beneficiaries, including CV preparation, job search guidance, and interview preparation.
- Support individuals in identifying employment opportunities and preparing for applications.
- Assist with matching candidates to relevant job vacancies.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with program requirements.
- Support the organisation of employability activities and events (such as job fairs or information sessions).
- Deliver or support group sessions on accessing the labor market, particularly for people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Collaborate with the SolidarityNow employability team to support successful employment outcomes.
Essential skills & Attributes:
- Degree in Humanities, Psychology, Sociology, Political Sciences, Economics or related field
- 2-3 years of experience providing career guidance or employment support services
- Experience working with individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds
- Basic understanding of the labor market and employment conditions in Greece
- Well organized, structured and able to manage tasks effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
- Fluent in Greek and English (written and spoken)
- Proficient in MS Office
Desirable Skills & Attributes:
- Training or education in career guidance or vocational counselling
- Experience supporting people facing additional barriers to employment (for example mental health challenges, survivors or gender-based violence or trafficking, migrants and refugees)
- Previous experience in recruitment or employer engagement
- Experience with NGO environment practices
- French language skills are an asset
