The client

One of the largest and most distinguished importer and distributor of steel and other types of metals in Cyprus.

The role

Τhe Deputy General Manager will play a pivotal leadership role within the Company, driving the commercial strategy, business development, and operational efficiency. Reporting directly to the General Manager, he/she will oversee all aspects of management to ensure sustainable growth and profitability. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, requiring understanding of the industrial sector and a results-driven mindset.

Main responsibilities include:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies aligned with corporate objectives
  • Identify market opportunities, trends, and competitive dynamics to achieve business growth

Business Development & Sales:

  • Foster strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and business partners to drive revenue generation
  • Lead contract negotiations with business partners and clients and ensure terms are commercially favourable
  • Follow market trends and pricing and make a conscious effort to be ahead of the competition
  • Support sales team and actively involved in sales procedure

Operational Leadership:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the company to ensure efficient operations
  • Optimize internal operations to enhance efficiency and ensure seamless delivery of projects
  • Work closely with the production, supply chain, and finance departments to align commercial activities with operational capabilities

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor the team, fostering a culture of high-quality service and accountability

Financial Management:

  • Review financial data to track revenue, costs, and profitability, providing detailed reports to senior leadership
  • Manage budgets and identify cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service

The requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Industrial Management, or a related field
  • Proven track record in senior leadership roles within the industrial sector
  • Strong understanding of market trends, supply chain dynamics, and industrial production processes
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing business strategies that drive growth and profitability
  • Strategic thinker with a strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and solve problems proactively
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to corporate values
