Junior Assistant Underwriter

Job Description:

• Support underwriting activities, including risk assessment and evaluation of marine insurance cases
• Analyze client data and assist in pricing and structuring insurance solutions
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients, brokers, and business partners
• Participate in renewals, negotiations, and portfolio management processes
• Contribute to business development initiatives and identify new opportunities within the shipping market
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and align with international offices
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting within internal systems
• Monitor market trends and support commercial decision-making

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Insurance, Shipping, or a related field
• 2 years of professional experience in insurance, broking, shipping, or a related sector
• Basic understanding of underwriting principles and risk assessment
• Excellent command of the Greek and English language (written and spoken)
• Familiarity with the Greek shipping market will be considered an asset
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office; CRM familiarity will be considered a plus
• Exposure to sales support, renewals, or commercial processes will be considered an advantage
• Strong communication and relationship management skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively
