Operations Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Oversee the day-to-day commercial and operational management of the tanker fleet
• Plan, monitor, and execute voyages in accordance with charter party terms laycan / laydays, vessel itineraries, shipping documentation and operational requirements
• Ensure smooth communication between vessel masters, agents, and charterers
• Monitor vessel performance, schedules, port operations, and voyage profitability
• Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations including those from the

International Maritime Organization and industry best practices

• Manage cargo operations including loading, discharge, tank cleaning, and cargo documentation
• Monitor bunker consumption and coordinate bunker procurement with the relevant departments
• Liaise with chartering and post-fixture teams regarding voyage instructions and charter party obligations
• Coordinate with technical and crewing departments to address operational issues affecting vessel performance
• Manage operational risks, delays, incidents, and claims
• Review voyage estimates, voyage results, and operational reports
• Ensure timely submission of reports, documentation, and invoices related to voyages and port calls. 

DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Master Mariner license with previous seagoing experience on tankers.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in tanker operations within a ship management company.
• Strong understanding of tanker charter parties, voyage management, and cargo operations.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of the English language
