As a QA Tech Lead, you will lead the evolution of quality practices across teams, combining people leadership with strong technical direction. This role is about building scalable quality systems, driving automation strategy, improving release confidence, and helping engineering teams move faster without compromising reliability.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow a team of QA engineers through mentorship, feedback, and clear performance expectations

Define and drive the quality strategy across projects, teams, and release processes

Build a culture where quality is owned proactively and embedded early in the development lifecycle

Improve QA processes, standards, and ways of working across manual, automated, and AI-assisted testing

Own test planning and quality coverage for complex product and platform initiatives

Drive test automation strategy, including framework evolution, test pyramid balance, and execution efficiency

Identify opportunities to reduce manual bottlenecks and increase confidence through automation and better tooling

Define and monitor quality metrics, release readiness indicators, and testing effectiveness

Partner closely with Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, Product Managers, and other stakeholders on quality risks, priorities, and release decisions

Review defects, test results, and production issues to identify root causes and prevent recurrence

Help teams improve reliability, debugging practices, observability, and pre-release quality gates

Support adoption of modern QA approaches, including AI-assisted test generation, launch analysis, and workflow automation

Contribute hands-on when needed in test design, automation, framework improvements, and critical investigations

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and managing QA teams in a fast-paced product organization
• Strong background in software testing methodologies, quality engineering, and release processes
• Solid hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, API testing, and test strategy design
• Strong understanding of different layers of the test pyramid and the purpose of each
• Experience building or scaling automation approaches that improve speed, coverage, and reliability
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound quality decisions under ambiguity
• Ability to define quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms that drive action
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to influence teams and improve quality practices across cross-functional environments
• Strong ownership mindset: able to identify risks early, drive alignment, and deliver outcomes
• Organized, structured, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously

Preferred

• Experience in high-scale consumer products, real-time systems, live-streaming, payments, moderation, or communication platforms
• Experience improving quality practices in environments with strong engineering ownership
• Experience with AI-assisted QA workflows or modern automation tooling
• Experience with release quality metrics, defect prevention, and production quality analysis
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Gradle and API testing tools
